"My dear "mobilizing" friends,

This is another "mobilizing" news, and I hope you can share our happiness with us. After 15 months of hard work, using mobiles for pressing local legislators, with calls and text messages, we WON the "Zero Waste" campaign in Buenos Aires. 

Hasta La Victoria - Basuro Cero More than 4.500 "movilactivistas" (mobileactivists) of Greenpeace Argentina has participated in this campaign. And the SMS database is still growing!!!! Buenos Aires (3 million in habitants) will reduce by 50% the urban waste sent to landfills in 2010, 75% in 2015 and "100% in 2020". Moreover, the law passed by the city council establishes that "incineration" of urban waste is "banned".

This is a big step for us and we can't hide our happiness for this achievement. In this way, Buenos Aires has become the most populated city to implement a Zero Waste policy, the first Latin American city to have such a legislation. Thanks to this new legislation, Buenos Aires will:
