7. MOBILE SOCIAL NETWORK SERVICES/PEER-TO-PEER

Zygo provides a very powerful, very easy-to-use group text messaging service that can be used on any handset and any network. The service gives each group its own telephone number that can be saved in a user's phone address book like any other number. Sending a text message to the group number means that the message is then sent out by Zygo to the rest of the group, from that number. Holding a text conversation with the group is as easy as holding a text conversation one-to-one.

The service was used successfully in Project Zumbido in Mexico, where four Zygo groups were set up for people living with HIV and AIDS in the state of Jalisco.

2008 - Duke University uses SayNow for an ESL project at local highschool for communication, assign homework and discussion using mobile technology.

BLUE LION mobile provides worldwide access to qeep, a mobile social network. Qeep is offered free of charge. Compressed-data messaging and unlimited photo storage are among the free features of the program. In addition, qeep is based on the Java J2ME platform. This affords qeep both a download size of barely 100KB, as well as compatibility with all MIDP 2.0 capable handsets. This includes many of the model phones profligate in developing countries.  Qeep crosses socio-economic boundaries. Because the network is both mobile-based and possesses such a high compatibility rate, qeep is accessible to users virtually everywhere. Since the launch of the English-language version in January, tens of thousands of new members have registered in countries across the world. For instantaneous mass-communication, the qeep network is an excellent instrument. Qeepers communicate ideas and images to a global network immediately and without concern for cost.
